So I admit it. I am not a fast writer. I publish books when I have the time, and since I have a full-time, non-writing job most of the year, there are gaps between my stories (Josh Anvil books 4 and 5, for instance — 9 years!). However, all the stories are mine and are not generated by AI. I mean, what’s the point if I can’t create the stories? That’s what I love to do. I want to use my own imagination and ideas, not borrow from others.

However, AI provides me with tools I consider fundamental to polishing my books. Grammarly, for example, is what I use to edit my chapters. I have found it catches things I would otherwise miss, so I consider it an indispensable tool. Yes, I have used a human editor before, but it is expensive. So if you find a novel that doesn’t list an editor in the copyright section, that likely means I used Grammarly.

I am also working on translating the Josh Anvil series into Spanish, so I use Google Translate and Grammarly for edits. My apologies in advance if there are errors. Since I realized Grammarly works with Spanish, I pulled the earlier translations and am reworking them to make them more readable. So again, if a translator is not listed in my non-English books, it means I went the AI route.

I also use computer-generated, virtual voice for my novels. Simply put, as an independent author, the cost of real voice production is prohibitive. A lot of my earlier work featured real people, but my most recent work uses AI as the voice.

I write this to be transparent with you, my readers, and not to try and trick you into reading something that doesn’t come from me. I hope you continue to enjoy reading the stories I publish.
