Birthday Wish Books

Heartwarming, imaginative stories that celebrate kindness, courage, and the magic of growing up.

The Seventh Birthday Wish

The magic door in Wesley’s room has been waiting three years to open—and on his seventh birthday, it finally does. On the other side is Erastus, a breathtaking world of birthday wishes and soaring color-changing horses, where one boy’s terrible mistake will challenge Wesley’s wish.

Wesley’s Birthday Wish

Wesley’s Birthday Wish brings Erastus to life in a way that’s perfect for first- and second-graders who are ready to read on their own — fabulous pictures, engaging story, and marvelous enchantment!

The Eighth Birthday Wish

Sophia’s birthday wish was supposed to be simple. Instead, it drops her into a magical crisis that only she can fix — if she’s brave enough.

Two 9-year-old children on a pirate ship. The girl is small and young-looking, with wild red hair, freckles, wearing an oversized crimson pirate captain coat with gold trim and a tricorn hat with a red feather — clearly a little kid playing pirate, grinning with pure joy, sword raised high. Her 9-year-old blonde brother is dangling from thick ship ropes above her, eyes wide with cartoon terror, mouth wide open, bare feet kicking — unmistakably a young child. Both are clearly 9 years old — round child faces, small bodies, youthful proportions. Jolly Roger flag partially visible above. Rich teal ocean waves behind them. Painterly storybook illustration style, warm dramatic lighting. The edges of the image dissolve softly into a deep teal color (#2a9db5) so the figures emerge naturally with no hard border.

The Ninth Birthday Wish

Twins on their birthday. Two wishes. Both reversed! Bril and Arisa are about to discover that wanting something and being ready for something else is the order of the day!

Science Fiction

High-stakes futures where technology, power, and human choice collide in thrilling, cinematic adventures.

Every Perfect Gift

SCREENPLAY

In a world on disaster’s brink, one man races to save humanity’s greatest threat.

A wide cinematic illustration with a vignette style — edges fade naturally into darkness with no hard borders. A frustrated teenage boy stands in the center, arms crossed, expression somewhere between exasperated and eye-rolling. He wears a t-shirt with a small graphic of a caped superhero and the caption "I Gave Blood" printed beneath it. Surrounding him in a swirling, dynamic composition are characters with genuinely impressive superpowers: one controls fire, one is flying, one has super strength flexing dramatically, one commands lightning, one appears to be invisible (comically half-visible). The surrounding heroes look heroic and cool; he looks done with all of it. The whole scene has warm, slightly comedic energy — not dark or scary. The edges of the image dissolve softly into shadow using a vignette effect, no square crop, no hard frame. Illustrated style, slightly stylized, vibrant but not garish.

Phalanx Blood Series

Worst. Superpower. Ever.

So yeah, my blood is basically magic. Cures the worst disease known to humanity. Cool party trick, right? Except it turned me into the most wanted person on the planet.

Fantasy

Epic quests, magical powers, and otherworldly realms where courage and imagination are your greatest guides.

Dramatic bird's-eye overhead view looking straight down into a dark twisted forest. A skinny teenage boy in torn, ragged clothes is sprinting hard through gnarled tree roots and dark undergrowth — he's close to the camera, taking up most of the frame, wild hair flying, desperation on his face. Far in the distance behind him, barely visible through the dark misty forest, a single goblin on horseback. The perspective is cinematic overhead — like a drone shot zooming in tight on the running boy. Dark atmospheric forest, dim light filtering through a dense canopy of twisted branches. Painterly illustration style, moody and tense. No hard rectangular border — image should feel like it fades at the edges into atmosphere.

Trial by Fear

A young teen must confront his deepest fears and uncover his past.

Skaluni Series

Cast out by his tribe, a boy discovers ancient powers and a destiny that could save — or doom — the people who rejected him.

A 1600x2400 book cover portrait. A 14-year-old boy named Josh stands in the center foreground with arms crossed, looking worried — wide eyes, slightly furrowed brow, anxious expression. He wears a dark t-shirt that says "I DIDN'T ASK FOR THIS", jeans, and Nike shoes. Dark hair, medium skin tone. Behind him, filling the upper half of the image, is a large green and yellow scaled dragon — friendly and loyal in demeanor, head tilted slightly with one curious eye visible, mouth closed, NOT snarling or aggressive. The dragon looks like it's watching over Josh protectively. The background is a moody Louisiana swamp with massive ancient cypress trees, Spanish moss, dark reflective water, and golden atmospheric light filtering through. Title text at top in bold gold fantasy font: "JOSH ANVIL AND THE CYPRESS DOOR". Subtitle below title in white: "JOSH ANVIL BOOK ONE". Author name at bottom in white bold caps: "BRUCE E. ARRINGTON".

Josh Anvil Series (Books 1–5)

An ordinary teen is thrust into extraordinary adventures, balancing school, friendships, and powers he never asked for.
